Our Story
We know what it feels like to be in your shoes - excited, unsure, and trying to work out who to trust.
MyRealtor was started by Angela and Nick - one Canadian, one British, both happily pulled into Mexico's orbit by sunshine, food, colour, and the dangerous thought: "Maybe we should live here."
Their Mexico story began in Tulum, where they had their dream wedding in 2009.
Like many people, they arrived for the beauty.
Then Mexico did what Mexico often does.
It pulled them in, changed the plan, and quietly became home.
We know what buying in Mexico feels like
Before starting MyRealtor, Angela and Nick had real estate experience in Canada and the UK.
Useful, yes.
But Mexico taught them what international buyers really need when they are trying to understand a new country, a new legal system, unfamiliar contracts, different timelines, developer promises, and paperwork that occasionally looks like it was designed to test your commitment.
Very inconvenient. Very useful.
That is why MyRealtor was built around one simple idea:
Buyers deserve someone on their side.
From Tulum to Bacalar
MyRealtor first grew by helping international buyers make sense of Mexico's property market - the developers, the paperwork, the timelines, and the little details that suddenly become very important when you are buying from another country.
Then Bacalar caught our attention.
Quietly at first.
Then very much not quietly.
The lagoon.
The slower pace.
The water that looks suspiciously edited, even when you are standing right in front of it.
Bacalar is special, beautiful, and full of long-term potential.
But beautiful places still need sensible buying decisions - especially when many of the best opportunities are pre-construction, developer-direct, off-market, or still taking shape.
That is where good guidance matters.
Built for international buyers
Most of our clients are buying from the US, Canada, Europe, or somewhere else outside Mexico.
Some know Bacalar well.
Some have never been.
Some are still trying to pronounce it confidently.
All are welcome.
We explain the process in plain English, help you compare the real options, ask the awkward-but-important questions, and stay involved after the sale.
Because buying from another country is not just a transaction.
It is a big decision, a lifestyle choice, and sometimes a WhatsApp message that starts with, "Sorry, quick question..."
We are used to those.
No pressure. No nonsense. No pretending every property is perfect.
We look forward to meeting you
